Most people aren’t aware that their options aren’t limited to traditional wood photo framing. The first image to the left is what you might call a more traditional photo frame with fancy engravings or designs “framing” the photo. That’s great for some people and grandma will love it in her home, but for those looking for a more modern approach to displaying their photographs on wood, face mounting to a unique material such as bamboo is a terrific option. For one, the focal point remains your image, not the designs of the frame. Outside of that, a bamboo face mount is a highly durable eco friendly option that is guaranteed to set your photo apart.
At BumbleJax.com we enlarge and face mount your photo on high quality bamboo (the same bamboo hardwood used in high end cabinetry and flooring) for a stunning gallery quality look. While images of the product don’t do it justice, you can see two images of a bamboo photo mount above. Each piece is unique with beautiful striations visible on the sides created by adhering bamboo slats together in the center. Many sizing options are available all the way up to 32×24″ (along with custom sizes). An increasing number of professional photographers are working with us to show off their photography in galleries and art shows using bamboo and we think you’ll love it you. C’mon over and say hi and try out our bamboo photo mounting.

There are a few different options for mounting your photos on wood. Some people like to use MDF which is a highly durable substrate, but doesn’t have that high quality appeal and resembles particle board which essentially it is. It’s heavy too. I’ve heard of folks using masonite which isn’t a bad option, providing a durable, light weight, classy look which I think is a better option.
Ah, but there is no better option than mounting your photo to bamboo in my opinion. For one, it’s much more eco-friendly since bamboo is a fast growing woody plant. Nothing more fashionable than eco-friendly wall art these days right? Not only that, but it’s absolutely the best looking wood substrate available and the same product used in high end cabinets and furniture. As you’ll notice in the image, it also features beautiful striations on the side of the mount created by the series of bamboo slats adhered together in opposite directions. If you’re thinking of mounting your photos on wood, you absolutely have to try bamboo. At BumbleJax.com we hand sand and stain each piece, bringing out the natural textures and unique imperfections. Come by and say hello!
